We have previously written about being aware of what your competitors are doing, and this still applies when you are wondering whether or not to launch a mobile app. If any of your competitors have a mobile app, they are already benefiting in ways that you are not, and if none of them have an app yet it shouldn’t be seen as a reason to not launch your own.
Open Office is a well-known open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics and databases. The good news is that like iWorks, it's completely free; the less good news is that there isn't an official 'cloud' version of the software. If you are particularly keen on using Open Office though, some cloud functionality will be available to you using Rollapp, an 'online application virtualization platform', which — in theory at least — allows you to run any application on any device in a web browser.

In 2016, an estimated 62.9 percent of the worldwide population already owned a mobile phone, and Statista forecasts that the number of mobile phone users in the world is expected to pass the five billion mark by 2019. According to a report by Nielsen, U.S. adults now spend nearly half a day on their smartphone. This data is very crucial to businesses. As supported by data, mobile has become an integral part of our lives and if any business is not considering or utilizing a mobile presence strategy, a swift demise into obscurity is on the horizon. When your customers favor mobile devices over desktops, shouldn’t you prioritize your efforts with the mobile audience in mind?
You Need a Budget, or YNAB, works a lot like Level Money, only you have to pay to upgrade after a free trial month. Instead of using it to constantly monitor your budget, you could have it take a deep dive into your finances and figure out the plan you should follow—plus, you can take this company’s free classes to learn even more about managing your finances.
Although you can never see as much information on a smartphone screen as you can on a desktop or laptop, Google does a good job of condensing key reports so they are visible on the small screen. The mobile apps allow you to check KPIs, monitor data in real time and build and save reports. You will need a Google account to log in. It gets 4.4 stars on Google Play and 5 stars on the App Store.
Whether this proves to be the most consequential moment in Android’s history has yet to be determined. This could all be just a short-lived scare tactic from a Trump administration trying to demonstrate to the Chinese government its willingness to take drastic measures. Or Huawei might be left on the US blacklist indefinitely, spawning a wide variety of potential scenarios, none of which bode well for the company’s future as a smartphone vendor.
Keeping up with the news is nearly impossible if you're a B2B business owner who is constantly on the go. Even when you do have time to check up on your favored publication, you might often find that what you're looking for or interested in is nowhere to be found. This is particularly problematic if breaking news has to do with your business and you miss out on an opportunity to capitalize on it through PR initiatives. The best way to remedy this problem is to download the iOS and Android app Flipboard. Flipboard gathers content from social networks, news publications, and blogs to display stories, articles, blog posts, videos, and other content in a magazine-like format. When you first use Flipboard you subscribe to topics you're interested in so that you can be sure the app is giving you content that is relevant to you. Price: Free

Once you’ve decided an app is the right step for your business, it’s time to get down to the nuts and bolts of planning your app. Depending on the size of your organization, the usual first step is to appoint an app team—a group of stakeholders that represents the major business functions in your organization. For most, this means a representative from the C-suite, your marketing department head, and someone from IT who understands the development and support process.
Google+ is used to let team members "engage and communicate" at "a deeper level", with a stream featuring posts, comments and Communities based on common goals. It "makes it easy for anyone to discuss and share ideas, no matter their team, level or location". It features Collections that make it easy to group posts by topic, in order for users to "show what they know and follow what matters most".[58]
Why do I need it? In the modern business world an organised social media strategy is crucial to online success. This is where HootSuite can help – it's the most popular social media management app worldwide allowing you to share and schedule posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. The AutoSchedule feature saves time by spreading content over a number of days, while the analytics tools help you track the success of your social media strategy.
TSheets is, you guessed it, also an Intuit solution, but that's not why we included it on this list. TSheets is hands-down one of the best time-tracking software solutions out there for SMBs, and the app makes mobile access a breeze. With this SaaS and app combo, you can officially get rid of paper timesheets and manual time entry. If your business has lots of remote or field workers, you'll love the GPS location tracking, which allows you to view employee location data, and the timeclock function, which uses facial recognition to confirm identity. TSheets also makes it easy to create and disseminate employee schedules and integrate with any other Intuit products you use. The entry-level subscription is $25 a month (plus $5 for each additional user), and the app is included.

With QuickBooks Online, you can access QuickBooks on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Android tablet.

In addition, it also helps you deliver quality services, thus adding value to your business.

This free app is super simple compared to the others on our list, but it's an invaluable tool for SMB owners, freelancers and contractors. CamScanner makes it easy to scan documents using the camera on your Android device. You can then save those documents as PDFs and email or download them directly from the app. The interface takes a minute to get used to, but for a free scanning app, CamScanner is top-notch.
