Even if you’ve tamed your own to-do lists, many businesses need an in-depth system to help them keep their customers straight. Customer relationship management apps, or CRMs, help you keep track of everything related to your customers — contact information, past and pending purchases, and anything else it’s essential to know about a client. Here are a few solid bets:
Gary Marshall of TechRadar commented in 2016 that "Where Office tries to do everything imaginable, Google's suite is much more basic. That said, it's much more powerful than it was when the package debuted in 2006, but the emphasis on simplicity and speed remains." Marshall wrote that "We wouldn't want to craft a massive, complicated manuscript in Google Docs, but then that isn't what Docs is designed to do. It's a fast and user-friendly way to create everyday documents and to share them with colleagues and clients", and that fellow service Google Sheets "covers the most common Excel functions [...] but doesn't have the power of Microsoft's offering". Marshall praised collaboration for being "effortless", and praised importing of external file formats and making those editable and collaborative for being a "big selling point".[96]

You’ve probably heard of Square, that tech startup changing the world of small business apps—and improving how small businesses process credit card transactions. Use your phone or tablet to swipe a customer’s credit card—all for free, including both the Square app and the card-swiping hardware they’ll send you—and simply pay a flat 2.75% fee each transaction.
Why do I need it? Tired of multiple, back-and-forth email chains with your staff? Slack can save time and increase productivity with real-time communication and collaboration for you and your team. There are several options available to provide easy and efficient communication including direct messages, private channels and group chats. The search function helps you find specific information easily and a drag-and-drop feature allows for file sharing.

If you need project management more than contact management, give Asana a try. The project management app was initially used by Facebook employees to track tasks and enable effective team collaboration without sending dozens of back and forth emails. Nowadays, the app offers multiple features, including task assignment and scheduling, task updating, and reminder sending. Asana helps reduce emails related to project management, giving your team more time to work on the actual task at hand.

You don't want to miss out on the best candidates for new positions at your company. This is the simplest question, but possibly the most difficult to answer. It may be tempting to reach customers at all hours, but exactly how will you benefit? You should know before embarking on this journey, so your expectations are not unrealistic. In the above example of an app with rewards and discounts, the business benefits by enticing customers to shop again and again. On the other hand, if you’re a personal trainer, your goal may be to establish yourself as an expert or to build a community around your brand. Your app may be in place simply as support for your business, so tracking ROI may not be as simple, but you should still be able to define what success means for your app.

If your daily planner is spilling over the edges with tasks, deadlines, ideas, and big-picture plans, use Asana to convert that sprawling mess to a single, simple, digital interface. Use this feature-loaded business app on your phone, tablet, or desktop to visually map your goals, update your to-do list in real time, and sync up your calendar with your co-workers’.

Businesses of all sizes and functions use Google Apps for Business to take advantage of Gmail storage, mobile email access and security. Companies can customize Google Apps to fit their business concerns and tailor the interface to their own look and feel. Administrators can connect Google Apps to their existing user directory and authentication system. Plus, if the business wants to continue using its current email service, Google Apps can run alongside it or administrators can rout mail from the existing solution to Google Apps for Business.

On March 28, 2012, Google launched Google Vault, an optional electronic discovery and archiving service for Google Apps for Business customers.[17] And then, on April 24, 2012, Google introduced Google Drive, a platform for storing and sharing files. Each Google Apps for Business user was given 5GB of Drive storage, with the option to purchase more.[18] Later that year, Google announced that the free version of Google Apps would no longer be available to new customers.[19]
Huawei still has the option to use the open-source variety of Android, but Google has been gradually whittling all of the attractive components away from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The genuine full-fat Android experience of today — featuring Google Maps, YouTube, and, most crucially, the full ecosystem of third-party Android apps — is dependent on Google’s licensing assent. Deprived of Google’s software, Huawei would be selling featherless chickens to smartphone buyers used to having Play Store access. In Europe, even the finest hardware wouldn’t convince consumers to buy a phone without an app ecosystem. Google wields enormous market power through its Play Store, significant enough for the European Commission to conduct an antitrust investigation.

Huawei has been aware of the possibility of hostile action from the US government for years, and its consumer division boss Richard Yu recently disclosed that it’s developed its own alternatives to Android and Windows. On the mobile front, that could be a fork of the AOSP flavor of Android or an entirely new operating system, built up from scratch. In both cases, Huawei would have a mighty struggle to convince any app developers to build apps for its separate platform. If Amazon, with all its clout and influence, couldn’t do it for the Amazon Appstore on Android, Huawei stands even less of a chance. Rational app developers are hardly going to flock to a new platform that’s born of adversity and thrust into a maelstrom of political conflict.
