Gary Marshall of TechRadar commented in 2016 that "Where Office tries to do everything imaginable, Google's suite is much more basic. That said, it's much more powerful than it was when the package debuted in 2006, but the emphasis on simplicity and speed remains." Marshall wrote that "We wouldn't want to craft a massive, complicated manuscript in Google Docs, but then that isn't what Docs is designed to do. It's a fast and user-friendly way to create everyday documents and to share them with colleagues and clients", and that fellow service Google Sheets "covers the most common Excel functions [...] but doesn't have the power of Microsoft's offering". Marshall praised collaboration for being "effortless", and praised importing of external file formats and making those editable and collaborative for being a "big selling point".[96]

The smallest of small businesses might not have the necessary funds to hire a full-time HR manager—but, even without a dedicated human resources department, small business owners need to take care of their employees (and be organized about it). Zenefits is an all-in-one HR, payroll, compliance, benefits, and time-tracking platform that works both with and without an HR manager at the helm.

With Evernote, you can clip bits and pieces of information from the web, tag them for easy searching, and alter any of them by adding to it, condensing it, or embedding pictures, tables, audio, video, and the like. You can also use Evernote for organic notes and journaling, to-do lists, recipes, contacts, and even storage for tweets or emails that you want to keep handy.
This is one of the most important things that a business owner must focus on.  Customers are the lifeblood of every business. Successful businesses know this and make it a priority to build loyalty and make brand ambassadors. Mobile apps are among the best ways to communicate and engage with customers. The app gives your customers the ability to interact with your business on their schedule. Push notifications have open rates that can max out in excess of 90%. Compare that to emails with open rates of 25-30%, and you can see how the mobile app will become the best way for you to connect with your customers. With a referral program, you can incentivize your customers to refer you new business and help to take you viral.
A mobile app has access to built-in features of devices and this helps to enhance the customer experience. Let’s take push notifications, for example. These can be sent at any time and users don't have to be in the app or using their devices to receive them. They can show the latest sports scores, download coupons or let a user know about an event, such as a flash sale.
Keeping up with the news is nearly impossible if you're a B2B business owner who is constantly on the go. Even when you do have time to check up on your favored publication, you might often find that what you're looking for or interested in is nowhere to be found. This is particularly problematic if breaking news has to do with your business and you miss out on an opportunity to capitalize on it through PR initiatives. The best way to remedy this problem is to download the iOS and Android app Flipboard. Flipboard gathers content from social networks, news publications, and blogs to display stories, articles, blog posts, videos, and other content in a magazine-like format. When you first use Flipboard you subscribe to topics you're interested in so that you can be sure the app is giving you content that is relevant to you. Price: Free
Hope now you understood the importance of mobile apps in business. So, how are you planning to start? You have two options. Either you build it by yourself by hiring experts or you can outsource it to specialists who has already build market leading mobile applications. Either way, you plan, a mobile app is going to be a standard component of any business in the future. The mobile strategy you make today is going to decide your future credibility.
However, that shouldn’t deter you entirely from using G Suite, because it is possible to open Microsoft Office documents using them, and even save files created with G Suite to Microsoft Office format. The problem with working this way however is that you can’t always preserve the exact formatting of Office files when you edit and save them using a Google app.
The best secure managed file transfer services aren't just designed to send large files from desktop to desktop. With Citrix ShareFile Business, you can share from Android, BlackBerry, iOS, and Windows mobile devices. For administrators, it also offers excellent device management functionality, enabling IT to instantly disable and wipe devices when necessary.
If you spend a considerable amount of time in the car, Google Maps remains one of the best ways to navigate with live traffic and automatic re-routing. Waze (iOS and Android) is an excellent, free alternative to your satnav that relies on user data to build maps and routes. On a related note, driversnote offers a great alternative to scribbling your mileage on your hand.
One important thing to note is that the G Suite 'Business' plan only provides you with unlimited file storage if you buy more than 5 user accounts. Otherwise you're restricted to 1TB per user. This is a bit of a shame really, as it renders Google's cheaper storage feature a bit less attractive to ‘solopreneurs’, or small companies with less than 5 employees. (Microsoft’s unlimited storage on its only kicks in when you have 5+ users too.)
This simple project management app allows visibility into the progress of each and every project. Using lists, cards, and boards, Trello gives you insight into what tasks have been done, which tasks need to be done, and who is working on each task. Trello's flexibility is its primary strength, allowing virtually any business to utilize and adapt the tool for their specific purposes.
Harvest is a time management app for iOS, Android, Mac or PC that offers advanced features for time and expense tracking, reporting, project budget alerts, timesheet approvals, app integrations and more.  The app helps you to effectively manage your time with real-time access to a simple interface that provides tools that ensure business profitability.
Smartphone usage has been on a tear as of late. Nearly three-quarters of Americans check their mobile phones at least once per hour, according to a Gallup survey.  Almost all – 90 percent – of that mobile-phone time is now devoted to using apps, analysis reveals. Americans now spend more time looking at their mobile phones than they do watching television.

The best benefits administration tools give your human resources team, as well as your employees, the ability to research, record, and update benefits data. With Zenefits on iOS and Android, you'll be able to access an entire set of traditional benefits data, as well as access termination management, stock options modules, and compliance information.

3.       Act as a marketing tool – More than just an application, a mobile app can double as a valuable marketing tool. How? It can be easily integrated with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and other social media sites. That means, with a single tap, customers can share with their network your app and or their experience with your company, which can then offer you free publicity. Plus, using push notification, you can quickly send upcoming promotions or special events to your customers and prospects.
Like Trello and Asana, Basecamp is a project management and team communication software that enables users to track and oversee both daily and ongoing tasks, share files, and centralize all your company’s modes of communication in one place. But we bumped Basecamp up on the list because of its app’s slightly higher reviews than Trello’s and Asana’s on the iTunes app and Google Play stores, plus its lower price.
Huawei has been aware of the possibility of hostile action from the US government for years, and its consumer division boss Richard Yu recently disclosed that it’s developed its own alternatives to Android and Windows. On the mobile front, that could be a fork of the AOSP flavor of Android or an entirely new operating system, built up from scratch. In both cases, Huawei would have a mighty struggle to convince any app developers to build apps for its separate platform. If Amazon, with all its clout and influence, couldn’t do it for the Amazon Appstore on Android, Huawei stands even less of a chance. Rational app developers are hardly going to flock to a new platform that’s born of adversity and thrust into a maelstrom of political conflict.
Finally on the subject of apps, don’t forget that there is nothing to stop you from using both G Suite and MS Office apps in conjunction with each other. If you are tempted by the unlimited cloud storage provided by G Suite, but want to save Word documents in it, you could buy the offline versions of the Microsoft applications that you use regularly, and save files created in them to your Google Drive.
FreshBooks is an accounting app that provides you with a way to manage and track invoices. The user-friendly interface allows you to create professional looking invoices within seconds, accept credit cards using your mobile device, and automatically bill customers with recurring invoices.  If you want to work from anywhere, FreshBooks is available as a free app for iOS and Android for accomplishing things on the go.
Your customers don't shop during business hours only. As a result, it's imperative that your customer service reps are on-call to handle requests at all times. The best helpdesk software includes mobile applications that let your reps answer calls, search for customer-specific information, and resolve tickets, all while away from the desktop. HappyFox in particular provides a crisp, clean, and adaptable mobile interface that makes remote customer service easy as pie.
Using the apps and extensions for multiple platforms, you can access you tasks from anywhere and at any time using a mobile device, web browser, tablet, or laptop.  Additionally, you have access to tools that allow you to visualize your productivity including sub tasks, sub projects, notifications, due dates, recurring dates, reminders, labels and filters, productivity tracking, team collaboration and much more.

Being a small business owner today, you want to keep a close eye on finances, management, human resource, and marketing – to name a few. With the introduction of mobile technology, small businesses owners can now manage their business anytime and anywhere. With mobile app development companies introducing customized products, businesses owners don’t have to grapple with tasks that are beyond their professional expertise and outsource services and spend large sums.

The working environment that you are hoping to deploy G Suite and Office 365 in should also be factored into your final decision. If your organisation uses a wide mix of devices and operating systems, then you could potentially make life easier for your users by plumping for G Suite, which is designed to run online (ideally in a web browser but apps are available for all the major OS devices).
G Suite (formerly Google Apps for Work and Google Apps for Your Domain) is a brand of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products developed by Google, first launched on August 28, 2006 as "Google Apps for Your Domain".[1] G Suite comprises Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, and Google+ for communication; Drive for storage; Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites for collaboration; and, depending on the plan, an Admin panel and Vault for managing users and the services.[2][3] It also includes the digital interactive whiteboard Jamboard[4] and the app development platform App Maker.
